Beauty Find: New Wrinkle Corrector from Estee Lauder that Really Works
Category:
Mom Beauty
What: New Wrinkle Corrector from Estee Lauder that Really Works
Why: The big makeup companies come out with so many new products each season, it’s impossible to try them all. But Estee Lauder’s new wrinkle corrector, Perfectionist CP+, is worth the money hands down. This silky formula glides on and feels amazing, but more importantly it actually shows results. Whether or not they actually increase collagen production remains to be seen, but the Estee Lauder Web site has plenty to say about the research they’ve done on this particular product. Give it a try and see for yourself. Lastly, unlike some pricey creams, this one comes in a decent-sized bottle so it will last a while. Free shipping, too.

Steal Her Look: MIchelle Obama, The First Lady of Fashion
Category:
Mom Fashion
"First Lady of Fashion.” “The Next Jackie O.” This is what the media is saying about Michelle Obama. When she co-hosted ABC’s “The View” earlier this summer, the off-the-rack dress she wore from White House Black Market sold out. It’s easy to see why. The Tank Leaf Print Dress is back, by the way, and it can be yours for $148.
This bright purple sheath by Chicago designer Maria Pinto she wore when her husband clinched his party’s nomination landed Michelle Obama the title of “Commander in Sheath” and the best dressed woman of 2008 in
Vanity Fair Magazine. Since not everyone can get away with this form-fitting number, we’ve found a gorgeous
Tadashi purple silk chiffon dress
($288) that still has the “wow” factor but may be a bit more flattering for women who aren’t as thin and tall as 5’11” Michelle.

Reviews were a bit mixed on the ocean blue wool dress, again by Pinto, Michelle wore the other evening at the Democratic National Convention. While we applaud Michelle for not wearing a suit, this dress was not exactly perfect from every angle on the TV screen. The color is fabulous, though. We’ve found a classic
long-sleeved knit dress in a friendlier fabric and day-to-evening style at $49.99.

Kid Find: School Spirit Legs

What:
Collegiate Leg Warmers from Dittany Baby
Why: With less than a month until college football, it’s time to put together your tot’s Saturday best – university style.
Dittnany Baby, known for wonderful
slings and
carriers, now has
collegiate SkidPants, leg (or arm) warmers.
Now it’s a bit of a controversy at our house as we support Ohio State, the arch enemy of the town where we live. But if you’re going to do it, do it to the max. Buckeye leg warmers are about to become the default Saturday gear for our little girl. And if, by chance, you’re not so keen on sports-themed clothes for your kiddo, take a gander at the super-groovy styles in
non-college prints and patterns. You can’t lose (I hope the same goes for Ohio State).
Price: $14

- Trend Alert: Louboutin’s Not The Only One After Women’s Soles
Almost by accident and because of a nearby bottle of nail polish, Christian Louboutin created the infamous red-soled high heel and turned the dull, tread-worn base of the shoe into a status statement. Now other designers are copying his moves but adding a twist of their own.
