On more than one occasion my darling husband has watched in amusement as I’ve strapped and wrapped myself into various undergarments for a big night out while all he has to do is throw on a pair of boxers. But now, it seems that men have the same opportunity as women to get a little help from their undies.
The T-Slim ($78) promises to “Pull up your Pecs” and enhance back posture by hugging the body, while the mesh knit material keeps him cool. The Jimmy Long ($54) holds in his thighs while “boosting” the rear and supporting him in other important places. And while it’s a great idea that plenty of men out there could use, The Bandit ($38) – a waistband that holds in the tummy and supports the lower back – is essentially a man girdle, or “mirdle”.

I cannot decide if the Safety 1st Jack Potty Training Seat
is either the best or the worst idea in toilet training. It bills itself as an interactive potty training experience. Sensors detect every time a “deposit” is made, and “hitting the jackpot” triggers lights, sounds and shapes. My guess is that little kids will get a kick out of it, but parents not so much, although perhaps bringing a little Vegas to your bathroom is a small price to pay for getting your child out of diapers.

This month Ty, Inc. released two new dolls in their Ty Girlz Collection named “Sweet Sasha” and “Marvelous Malia.” Ring a bell? Maybe a couple of cuties who just moved into a big white house? Not so fast, says the maker of the dolls, who also makes Beanie Babies. According to Ty, the dolls are not based on the Obama girls and the fact that they have the exact same names and were released the same month as the Inauguration is strictly coincidence. Michelle Obama doesn’t believe it, but that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.
You can preorder the Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia set for $29.99, for shipment in mid-February.
