There’s nothing worse than trying to change a fidgeting infant and not having your diapering supplies easily accessible. That’s what makes a baby changing table so great. It’s a safe, secure place for your baby to lay when his diaper needs changing that also holds diapers, wipes, cream and whatever else you need to get him clean and dry.
1. Safety. You should never leave your little one unattended on a changing table, but nonetheless you want to make sure you choose a changing table that has guardrails, safety straps and stable and secure legs. If the changing table you like has wheels, you should ensure you’re able to lock them.
2. Storage. The whole point of a baby changing table is to make diapering easier, so look for a changing table that has lots of storage space. Room for diapers, wipes, creams and ointments is the bare minimum.
3. Comfort. Your baby will go through lots of diapers, which means lots of his time will be spent on the changing table. That’s why it’s important to choose a changing table that’s comfortable. Touch the padding to ensure it’s comfortable and also consider changing tables that allow you to hook toys on them to keep your baby occupied.

Pros: The coordinating pad that goes with STOKKE’s chaning table is super thick and supportive. The storage baskets are incredibly deep so you can store lots in them, plus you can safely hang smaller diapering caddies from the sides. This changing table also has one of the highest weight limits we’ve seen–over 100 pounds. Best of all, when baby is done with diapers, this changing table converts to a desk.
Cons: STOKKE’s changing table is worth the money, but it’s definitely a splurge.

Pros: Why didn’t we think of this? This changing table by Badger Basket is designed to fit in a corner in your nursery, so you can change your baby from the front, rather than sideways. Table comes complete with a pad and generous size shelves below.
Cons: If you’re tight on space, beware: this changing table is a little on the large side. Also, if you’re not satisfied with the thickness of the pad, it’s difficult to find an alternative pad that fits the corner design.

Pros: The sleigh design of this Badger Basket changing table is sleek and eye-catching, but what’s really great is the hamper and drawer storage. When you’re little one soils his clothing (and trust us, he will), all you have to do is toss the dirty onesie in the convenient hamper underneath. Store cream and wipes in the top drawer, diapers in the middle drawer and backup onesies in the bottom drawer.
Cons: The changing pad on this changing table could stand to be a bit thicker, but it’s easily replaceable if you so choose.

Pros: Yes, this really is a changing table. And a bath tub, too. This innovative combination changing table can be used to bathe your baby and with a flip of the lid, converts to a changing table. It has two good size storage shelves: one for bathing supplies, the other for diapering supplies.
Cons: It takes a while to master the conversion of this changing table, but practice makes perfect.

Pros: This effective, simply designed changing table is easy on the eyes and the wallet. The two storage shelves will fit diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream, plus some. The straightforward design also makes it easy to assemble.
Cons: The changing pad is thinner than others we’ve seen. Also, you’ll probably have to buy baskets to place on the shelves to keep everything from falling off the sides.
