Top Five Sunscreen for Babies and Kids
Category: Children Skin Care Summer Top FiveYour little one has the cute SPF swimsuit, the matching beach hat that covers his ears and neck, and possibly even some cool shades. But that doesn’t give him or her a free pass when it comes to sunblock. With so many different options on the market, it can be difficult to choose the best one, but whichever brand you end up using, just remember to apply generously (don’t forget those ears!) and to reapply as needed throughout the day. Here are our top five picks:
1. California Baby Natural Bug Blend SPF 30+ Sunscreen Lotion: ($14) Battle sunburns AND bug bites with this gentle, yet hard-working sunscreen. The citronella keeps the bugs off (DEET-free!), while the chemical-free SPF 30 keeps harmful rays at bay. If the scent is too strong, get the unscented
version.
2. Coppertone Continuous Kids Sunblock Spray: ($8.49) If you’ve got a wiggly toddler who hates it when you slather on the sunblock, this no-rub spray is for you. The light mist sprays evenly and easily, and it’s waterproof, so your little fish can stay in the water longer.
3. Aveeno Baby Sunblock Lotion: ($9.49) Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, this SPF 55 lotion with oatmeal (a natural skin-soother) glides on smoothly without that icky, sticky feeling you get with a lot of other lotions. It’s also hypoallergenic and fragrance-free.
4. Mustela Sun Cream for Sensitive Areas ($10) This little tube packs a punch with its 100% mineral sunscreen combination of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and iron oxide—ingredients that protect against all the sun’s harmful rays. Perfect for ears, cheeks and nose.
5. Erbaviva Children’s Sunscreen: ($28) A favorite among eco-conscious parents, this sunblock is made from natural, botanical ingredients, offering SPF 15 without any harsh chemicals.

It is always good to have your baby protected and as this blog says mom finds!!!. Thank you for this list, it is so hard to figure out which sunscreens are good for the little tot. Some may be a bit expensive, but it is well worth itPosted by Dottie Mcpherson on 02/07 at 07:59 PM
