Rumor has it that rapper Lil Wayne is expecting his, wait for it, fifth child. Yup, fifth, as in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

There have been multiple reports that Lil Wayne’s current girlfriend is pregnant and I’m sorry, but it just makes me sick. Actually, I’m not sorry. He should be sorry. There is no excuse for making babies–with 5 different women, mind you–that you don’t take care of.

Now don’t tell me it’s fine because he pays child support. It’s not okay just because he’s rich. Taking care of your kid doesn’t mean sending a check every month. Children need a father in their life and not just a guy who comes around every so often.

For this reason, you will never hear me bump a Lil Wayne record and if he is still around when my daughter is older, he’s definitely on the banned-in-this-house list. Sure, he may be talented, but he’s sucking as a person if you ask me. And of course, no one is perfect, but after baby #2 I think we all know how kids are made. Precautions can be set in place to ensure you don’t end up with five children by five different women.

I also don’t buy the excuse that just because he didn’t grow up with his father, it’s part of a vicious cycle. If anything, not having his father in his life should make him want to be an even better father to his children.

But maybe I’m just biased because I kind of hate his music, too. And I think people have to do better. Especially people who other kids–and young boys!–look up to. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments.

  • I don’t get into his music either, but I believe if he takes cares of his kids – I could care less what he does. There are plenty of male celebrities (and non-celebrities) that have one or two children and are not taking care of their children financially. So, he has my respect if he takes cares of his financially. Also, there are a lot of celebrities with nannies (i.e. Jennifer Lopez) that are taking care of their children on a regular basis and it makes me wonder why they even have children at all. :)

  • I can’t stand his music(or his representation of hip hop) but I have never heard that he doesn’t take care of or spend time with his kids. I would never bash him for his parenting, his music now that’s another story

  • I don’t think he should be looked at as a role model. He’s a musician – that’s it. Unfortunately, our society puts people who are famous and make a lot of money on a pedestal. We can’t judge someone’s actions who we don’t know. Do I agree with having 5 children with 5 different women – heck no! But I’m not looking to him for moral guidance – and I like his music. Rap can be hard and vulgar and rough – but that’s why its popular. Just like some of our rock and roll stuff – its not for main stream. My kids will know the difference and will not be encouraged to look up to strangers.

  • I have never heard that he does not spend time with his kids. Matter of fact from what I have read and seen pictures, all of his kids know each other and spend time with each other.

  • How about the women who allow themselves to get pregnant by him. The blame should not all be put on him.

  • Thanks Sandra! He isn’t the only one who’s in that bedroom that knows he has a bunch of other kids he doesn’t take care of. If you know he’s a dead beat but you still get pregnant by him what is that saying about you? At the very least these women have some idea they will be single mothers and so I feel no pity for their situation.

  • I have to say that I agree with the others that the blame cannot be placed on the man alone.

I have a 6 month old baby, and you better bet that I know very well how to not get pregnant again until I’m ready! Lol.

Could these women have not done the same? And if the children are provided with a great mother, that can trump any deadbeat dad relationship. I do not buy into the ok school thinking that a father is the holy grail in a child’s life. I think a bad dad is worse than no dad. I would know.

  • I’m still confused. Where (internet/gossip rags) does it say he doesn’t take care of his children: financially or emotionally? There has to be some proof to call him worst celeb father. Five different kids from five different mothers? I think other celebs/professional atheletes have him beat.

If he keeps his children out of the limelight, that’s commendable. Let’s face it, as an entertainer, he’s busy. A lot of parents are busy. And if he’s seen partying at the wee hours of the night, I’d rather not see his children partying along with him. I hope they’re home sleeping.

  • I’m with Sandra. These women could’ve done something to avoid getting pregnant. Take some responsibility! Maybe they wanted to have his child. Give lil wayne a break!

  • He married the mother of his first child, but that relationship did not work out. But, if you watched his ex-wife show, (Toya), you would see that he is a big part in all his kids lives. And that his kids spend time together. Kinda think my vote for Bad Dad would go to Josh Powell.

  • Is this Dwayne carter someone you know personally? Is having a baby a decision best made by the public or by consenting adults? If what your saying is correct, then should same sex couples not be allowed to have children, since they don’t offer a parent of each gender? Should single men/ women be disallowed to have children since they willingly choose to offer single parent homes? What about those who believe ppl shouldn’t have children out of wedlock? What does it matter if this is child #1 or child #5? Should there be a cap on how many children someone can have? There are a lot of men and women who accomplished great things whose children consider them to be terrible parents, how does Lil Wayne make you any more sick than Martin Luther King or Steve Jobs? Have u spoken to the mothers of his children to find out if they are satisfied w/ their situations?

  • I can only argue with the point that he doesnt take care of his kids…. He does, financially and emotionally. I mean, u dont have to like his records but he always been there for his kids and take care of them. As far a parenting goes he really good with all his kids. From what they(LIL Wanye, family, etc) allow us to see. Him growing up without a father enforce him wanting to be a better father. BUT…This just was a shocker tho. 5 different baby mamas? thats ridiculous! Wrap it up weezy! Oh and I also heard he proposed to his baby mom-to-be #5. So @ least she get a ring
