When I was pregnant, there were definitely cute maternity clothes, but I wouldn’t exactly say they were fashion forward. Just 3 years later, and that’s all changed. All the hottest women’s trends–from stripes to bold prints–are being done for moms-to-be and I’m impressed.
But one trend I’m still on the fence about are these belted maternity dresses.

mama.licious Mio Lace Maternity Dress ($63)

Sleeveless Belted Maternity Dress ($35)
I will admit, they are cute, but I’m just not sure they’re practical. Or comfortable for that matter. Now I know the belt is above your baby bump, but after my second trimester I couldn’t be bothered with anything even remotely constricting.
So I want to know: are you moms-to-be into these belted maternity dresses? Are they comfy or is it all about the fashion? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Whoa! Heidi, Is That a Maternity Dress You’re Wearing?
Best Baby Bottles

I just had my baby shower this weekend and I wore a belted maternity dress and looked really cute if I do say so myself. Overall, the belt above my bump was comfortable (I’m 33 weeks pregnant.) It started to bother me about 6 hours after having first put it on (well past the end of my baby shower.) I would say the belted maternity dress is about 80% comfy and 20% about fashion (but I’m a fashion slave-I’m still rocking my 4 in heels on a daily basis.) I think the belted maternity dress is worth it for special occasions (i.e. baby showers, wedding receptions, dinner date) but not so comfortable for all day, from sun up to sun down, wear.
