Suri Cruise Dolce & Gabbana Purse

Our friends at posted this photo of Suri Cruise with a fancy Dolce & Gabbana handbag and asked a good question: What do you think of 5-year olds carrying $1700 designer handbags?

Me? If both my husband and I were mega-watt Hollywood actors who command millions per film, I say why not.  And can we really expect anything less from the little girl who has a penchant for high heels?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.

  • I don’t think I have even spent that much on all my purses/handheld accesories combined and I have 4 designer purses a big designer bag, 2 designer wallets, and a designer make up bag. ( I am 16 by the way). Spending that much on a 4 year old is just a BAD idea…. If she drops it, puts it down and forgets it, spills something on it or otherwise damages it they are out 2,000 bucks. Not that such a ” small amount” matters to them but still…. nothing wrong with a cute little backpack with a puppy on it like the rest of us had when we were 4. I still remember my $20 kindergarten backpack from Wal-Mart and loved it!

  • a bit ridiculous…but I live in the real world – and they…simply do not. Whatever they want to do with their child is completely none of my business – and vice versa. Im gonna say they are a little out of touch …but hey- with a ba-zillion dollars at my everyday disposal – maybe I would be too ;)

  • Let us not forget that a lot of these rich celebrities OFTEN get FREE items. Joe Public breaks their neck just to carry an expensive purse that they see a celebrity wearing, NOT KNOWING that the celebrity just got a free line of products from a designer, with the hopes of them being seen wearing one of their items.

The celeb world is a bubble, it’s not like our reality. 99% of us do not have $1700 to dispose of on a purse for a toddler, but they do.

Our perception is not their reality.

  • This is obviously outrageous for most of us out there who don’t even have a mortgage of $1700 but these people are celebrities. I’m sure if I had Tom Cruise’s money, I’d splurge a lot too!!

  • A fool and their money are soon parted. This is foolish on the parents part. They’re raising a little brat by overindulging her. What are they doing? Buying her love because they don’t want to take the time to nurture their children. The same goes for the pacifier issues with this little girl. If Suri felt safe and secure, she wouldn’t need those items.

  • Sure a toddler like Suri needs a $1700 handbag. What else is she going to carry her pacifier in?
