Guess what I found on Amazon.com today? Perez Hilton’s new children’s book, The Boy With Pink Hair. We mentioned he was writing a kiddie book back in March and just 5 months later it’s already available.
The description for the book reads:
From blogger-extraordinaire, Perez Hilton, comes the story of a boy who is not afraid to be who he is and how his difference makes a difference.
Sounds pretty wholesome, right? In theory I like the concept behind the book, but there’s a small part of me that still refuses to support anything Perez Hilton does because I remember how he defaced pictures of women and children during his hey day. Sure, he claims to have cleaned up his act, but I’m still not so sure he wouldn’t do it again for the right amount of cash.

He is the type of person who gives a bad name to a cause that so many people have struggled to bring attention to – and even given their lives for. His “fame” is infamy, and it makes my skin crawl to think of the lives he has brought such unhappiness to, when we are trying to ask people to NOT bully others who are different than they are. That’s where he has excelled: bulling and making people’s lives a living hell because he, in his infinite wisdom, has deemed them deserving of such treatment. He is no better than any other mean-spirited bully and should in no way be glorified.
