I am literally counting down the days until my family vacation (8, if you’re interested). I’m really excited to take my first big trip with my daughter, but I’m also a bit nervous because this is the first trip where we’ll be staying in a hotel.
I’ve been so consumed with making sure she has everything she’ll need for the new climate (sunscreen, swimsuit, etc.) that it wasn’t until today that I started thinking about our sleeping arrangements. Because I’m an adult and have a stronger immune system, I’ve come to terms with sleeping on a hotel mattress and sheet set that probably have more germs on them than I care to know about. But my daughter? I’m not so sure.
So I did some research and leave it to the know-it-alls at Baby Bjorn (I say that affectionately) to offer a lightweight, portable crib for traveling. It would be an easy decision if said crib wasn’t $280. That’s close to what I spent on my regular crib, not to mention close to the price of another airline ticket. So I’m wondering: do I take the plunge and give my daughter a germ-free place to sleep for the 7 days we are away, or do I just pack a clean pair of sheets for her to sleep on and call it a day?
