If we finally started going green in the “aughts,” the new decade is a chance to start with a clean slate. And there’s no time like the present to start greening up the kids’ dresser drawers. Organic cotton clothing styles have the advantage of being softer on kids’ skin too, and the prices are dropping every day it seems. Here are a few of our favorites:
Animal Tees from A Little Lark ($32) – Gorgeous animals drawn in their native environs and screened onto organic tees with lead-free inks are just the thing to get your tot in the mood for an outdoor adventure. The detail on A Little Lark’s tees is exquisite – we wish they made them in our size! They come in sizes 2, 4, and 6 at the moment, plus bodysuits for baby.
Alien Tees from First Step Organic ($19.50) – We can’t help thinking all newborn babies look like aliens – absolutely adorable aliens, but aliens all the same. And this organic tee is a funny ode to babydom with something special – soft cotton, the tags on these tees are sewed onto the outside of the shirt so you can keep track of their size without something uncomfortable rubbing on their skin.
Zoo Tees from Tyler Trends ($27) – Cartoon-like animal characters have made Tyler Trends stand out, but we’re bananas for their monkey tops for more than their looks. Enzyme washed for extra softness, the organic cotton tops are dyed with environmentally-friendly dyes.
