Blacksmith Brands, which owns the PediaCare line of children’s cold medicines, voluntarily recalled all lots of four different PediaCare medications yesterday. Blacksmith initiated the recall because the plant where the medicines were manufactured had serious problems meeting the FDA’s current good manufacturing practice requirements. There have been no reported cases of illness as a result of this yet, but other non-PediaCare products manufactured at the same plant have been found to have tiny particles in them. The recall involves the following medicines:
- PediaCare Multi-Symptom Cold
- PediaCare Long Acting Cough
- PediaCare Decongestant
- PediaCare Allergy and Cold
If you currently have any of these medicines, you should dispose of them immediately. If you have questions about the recall, visit Blacksmith’s website or call (888) 474-3099.
