My baby isn’t old enough to play with playdough just yet, but I do know that organic play dough is all the rage. The ones I’ve seen do have an irresistible quality to them: they’re usually smooth and soft, smell wonderful, and some are even okay to nibble on.
But they can be expensive! I’m of the mind that the kind we grew up with is plenty good. I mean, do you want to shell out money to buy a real, lasting toy or a set of dough that will likely be mixed into a smear of colors in just one use?
If your child is a super careful play dough enthusiast, then maybe it’s worth it. But I’m pretty sure come the time, I’ll be Hasbro all the way.
What do you think? Is organic play dough worth the dough?

Just make your own. Besides your kid can have fun helping you make it. They can help measure the flour and water.

As a child we only had the “store bought” playdoh once in a while. Usually we played with the dough that my mom made at home for us. If it’s really important to you to have organic playdoh for your kids I’d say just get the organic ingredients and make it at home yourself. You’ll save a bunch of money and can make as much as you want in whatever colors you wish.
There are plenty of recipes out there for this.
