Most moms know how essential it is to breastfeed their babies, but for those who don’t–or those who need a little encouragement every once in a while–there’s BabyGooroo.com.

Allison Micarelli-Sokoloff is the editor-in-chief of BabyGooroo.com and she and her team deliver the latest news, tips and advice on breastfeeding, nutrition, health and safety. Allison also happens to be a new mom–her adorable son, Paul, turns one this month. (Happy Birthday, Paul!)

So, how does a mom tasked with staying on top of the latest breastfeeding news and keeping up with a 1-year-old keep it all together? Here’s Allison’s must list:

Dreft Laundry Stain Remover: “Gone is the need to do battle with the bib! By midday, Paul’s clothes are stained with food, drool, and dirt. I spray the stains before tossing his clothes in the wash and voila! In the beginning months, I was even able to save poop-stained white onesies.”

Burt’s Bees Aloe & Witch Hazel Hand Sanitizer Spray: “When you live in a place like New York City, you’re hyper-conscious of germs. It’s 100% natural, smells great, and doesn’t dry out my hands. I have one at the kitchen sink, one in a bin in the mud room, one in the bottom of Paul’s stroller. It goes everywhere I go.”

Large Locker Basket: “In our home, diaper changes happen on the floor. We can’t fit a changing table in our small New York City apartment; so we had to get creative with storage. I found a bin–large enough to store a week’s worth of diapers and wipe–that looks inconspicuous on our living room bookshelf. No one would ever suspect it’s Paul’s diaper bin.”

Moleskin Notebooks: “I am overly organized–sometimes to a fault. Once a habit of writing everything down turned into a compulsive need to write everything down. I use these for my feeding logs, pooping and sleeping logs, directives from my doctor appointments, daycare interview questions, shopping lists! The best part: The built-in pocket for business cards and receipts.”

Sleep Sheep: “It’s portable! We take our Sleep Sheep everywhere we go so we can turn any travel bed into a little bit of home. We’re big fans of the ocean sound—it’s so soothing, it can lull even the worst sleepers to sleep. My husband and I considered getting one for ourselves!”
