Did you catch this week’s Bethenny Getting Married episode with Bethenny nursing baby Bryn on that chocolate polka dot nursing pillow? It’s a My Breast Friend Nursing Pillow? It really is a breastfeeding mom’s best friend.
Believe me. I used it with my son (nursed him for two and half years) and with my daughter (16 months and still going strong). So what’s so great about it? Basically, it makes breastfeeding more comfortable for both baby and mom.
The flat surface prevents baby from rolling towards your belly, which happens with the Boppy pillow, and the entire pillow wraps around your belly. It stays put with a clasp so you can move about without having to disrupt baby. You can even nurse baby while standing up (although I don’t really recommend it).
It provides some lower back support with the built-in backrest, and it also has a pocket for you to stash a couple of burp cloths or a bottle of water. Or the remote control. The cover unzips for easy washing, and it’s not terribly expensive. It’s just $29.
