Sesame Street will launch season number 40 this week, and we’re feeling nostalgic for our own sunny days spent in front of Big Bird, Cookie Monster and the gang – not to mention more recent hours spent with the kids, Elmo and Abby Cadabby. So we’ve decided to bring you a MomFinds shopping report with the help of the numbers 4 and 0 and the letters M and O (and an extra M for moxie):
All 40 years are represented in a new two-disc DVD set, 40 Years of Sunny Days ($20.99). Split into a 1969 to 1989 edition and a second for the years since, the DVDs follow the Muppets and their human companions through weddings, sing-alongs and visits to space. Remember Mr. Hooper? The days before Elmo? It’s all there in more than five hours of memories plus new backstage footage released for the first time. Call your siblings, you’re going to want to watch this one as one big happy family.
Elmo’s tummy isn’t the only thing that likes a feathery touch. Everything’s a potential giggle fest with the Elmo Tickle Hands from Fisher-Price ($29.99). Fit the hands over your tot’s fingers, then let them loose to start touching. The hands will start to vibrate and let off an Elmo giggle while your kids fall out laughing at the silly sensation at the tips of their fingers.
What’s more snuggly than a Snuggie? Everyone’s favorite red furry monster as a blanket ($18.99). Elmo envelopes them in warmth with a hood that double as his head and little red hands that sit over their’s for a whole new look for bedtime.
You won’t shirk work when you’re carrying it home in a bag with a friendly face peeking up at you. Elmo’s not just their friend – he’s been around since 1980 and seen more than one Mom through tough times. This messenger bag ($31) can double as a diaper bag, purse or extra bag for groceries too.
