OK, no one really “needs” makeup. And it is an old cliché that it takes a lot of makeup to look like you’re not wearing any. But I’d rather leave people guessing if my skin is really that radiant with the help of some makeup and skincare products. Here are some of my tips for getting a great everyday look that is deceptively natural.

Prescriptives' Flawless Face Primer

After applying your moisturizer, apply Prescriptives’ Flawless Face Primer ($27.50).  The formula is virtually weightless and oil-free. It reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores, while providing a perfect canvas for your makeup.  With this as your base, your makeup will stay put longer (you’ll worry less about touch-ups) and your skin will look more clear and smooth.

Prescriptives' Photochrome Light-Adjusting Compact Makeup

If you’re foundation-phobic (like me), you’ll love Prescriptives’ Photochrome Light-Adjusting Compact Makeup ($35).  This cream-to-powder foundation positively disappears into your skin, making your skin look flawless but not made-up. It’s composed of light-reflecting particles that diffuse glare, but also soften the look of lines and wrinkles. Pairs perfectly with the Flawless Face Primer.

For the perfect finishing touch, try the Beauty Blendericon ($19.95). A winner of the Best of Allure, this is an elliptical-shaped sponge that allows you to access hard-to-reach areas with ease. Use it to blend your blush, foundation, powder—anything. The Beauty Blender makes any makeup you use that much better.
