The temperature is dropping and it’s time to begin the great maternity coat hunt. While most stores haven’t fully stocked up on winter wear, here are a few that we’re excited to see on the racks already.

Pea in the Pod Button Front Tweed Maternity Coat

Best Basic: Button Front Tweed Maternity Coat ($158): This basic black maternity coat from Pea in the Pod is all about simplicity and function, but without sacrificing feminine flair (note the cool bell sleeves). It’s also warm and very reasonable, all assets that make this coat a must-have if you’re pregnant during the winter.

Old Navy Maternity Coat

Best Budget: Old Navy Maternity Coat($39.50): By far the best budget-conscience choice, this lightweight coat from Old Navy will take you from prenatal to postpartum. It’s soft jersey, and has an empire waist and skirted inverted-pleat hem, making it chic yet comfortable. And the hood is removable, so it’s extremely versatile.

Isabella Oliver Maternity Coat

Best Splurge: Isabella Oliver Maternity Coat ($419): If this is your first pregnancy and you may need a coat many seasons—or you will be outside a lot this winter—this wool cashmere blend from Isabella Oliver is a good investment. It’s warm and stylish, and the trapeze silhouette is flattering (and anything but boring).
