What: Footloose Running Dress by Skirt Sports
Why: If you had a chance to watch the High-Heel-A-Thon on Regis & Kelly, you may have seen a few women sporting “ Running Dresses.” Check it out. Jill Stamison, who placed the World Record Title, crossed the finish line wearing the Footloose Running Dress by Skirt Sports.
These dresses are a cross between your cute tennis skirt, slash bathing suit, slash biker shorts, slash beach dress. Whew! And that’s the sound I heard from the men at my YMCA while I “sported” one myself. (Pretty good for a Mom of four.)
I am not usually comfortable wearing mini skirts in public, but it’s funny how cute athletic wear (and the shorties underneath) give you a boost of confidence. So, I put my Footloose Running Dress to the test. First, on the treadmill, then the elliptical and finally a 30-minute dance workout. I was impressed that the dress did not ride up in the back, did not stick or itch, was not restricting, and I looked pretty good while working out. Plus the Shorties have a pocket for my iPod and key so I didn’t have to hold them.
Price: Footloose Running Dress $62; Shorties $30
