Your little one is getting ready for his or her first day of preschool, and you’re running around town looking for the perfect backpack.  Save your gas and your time, and check out these oh-so-cute backpacks that are just the right size.  We know your kid doesn’t really need a backpack, but they’re so adorable, we couldn’t resist.

1. Samsonite Sammies Dipsy Backpack ($35.99): This playful penguin backpack easily holds a few of your kid’s most prized possessions and a snack. Our favorite feature? The penguin’s beak squeaks.

2. Small Paul by Paul Frank Skurvy Backpack ($54): Perfect for the kid who digs pirates, this hip backpack features lots of cool features, including two zippered pockets in the front and a detachable coin pouch. So cool you’ll want one, too.

3. Bla Bla Lion Backpack ($38.95): This hand-knitted backpack might just be cuter than your kid.  It’s made of 100% cotton in vibrant colors that will help you spot her in a crowd.

4. Little Packrats Stegosaurus Backpack ($35.99): This bag is dino-mite! (Couldn’t resist).  Stuff it with snacks, toys and maybe even a couple of dinosaurs.  If your tot isn’t a fan of dinosaurs, you can also get a dog, lion or clown fish bag.

5. Skyway Kid’s Gear Backpack with Detachable Lunch Box ($17.99): The most bang for your buck, this bag is loaded with different compartments and comes with a detachable lunch box. Now that’s what we call smart.
